things i'm not liking about this week. - waking up early. i've been in orientation all week long starting promptly at 8 am. for those of you with office jobs, you're thinking i'm a wimp right now. but keep in mind i've been a waitress working nights for 2 1/2 years now. it's not an easy adjustment. i'm trying to make morning my friend but we're really just not getting along.
- not having money. i'm not really working my waiting shifts this week so i can go to orientation but i'm not getting paid by my new job until the 18th. and rent is due and they're threatening to turn off our electricity because i'm the worst bill payer EVER. (sorry jesse). it'll all be fine it's just that transition period that is so rough.
- the neverending gloomy weather. this is texas, people. i want sun. it can stay cold, that's fine, but with some sun, please.
some things about this week that i'm loving. - my new thermos. jesse bought it for me from the vietnamese grocery store. it's amazing. maybe i just forgot about thermoses. (is thermoses the correct plural of that? whatever.) today i made tea in it around 7 am. forgot it in my car during orientation, brought it home and drank it at 12:30 and it was almost still too hot to drink. absolutely amazing. you're all getting thermoses for the next big holiday. with vinyl and stripes and a cup built right in.
- the fact that in a matter of weeks i will have FULL MEDICAL BENEFITS at my new job. for someone who hasn't had any sort of coverage for about 4 years now, this is amazing. this new place really does have insanely great benefits. too bad i twisted my ankle a few days ago (i was only a tiny bit drunk) and it's all shades of blue. should have waited 10 weeks to do that. damn.
- sesame street. i was flipping around this morning and couldn't find a morning show that didn't annoy me so i turned it to pbs. sesame street is really good. i'm serious. i may become a regular watcher.
i guess that's it.
