cowbellz's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- even the birds want to hang out at my place. after working a double yesterday, i went home, cuddled up on my couch with a bottle of wine and watched a movie. i watched "all the real girls". a beautifully shot movie that made me ache for a relationship like the one the two main characters have. (before it all goes downhill) so, at one point in the movie, paul, the main male character drunkenly tells this story of how he was walking and saw a group of birds flying in a "V" formation. and the formation flew right into a building and they all fell down and curled up on the ground. then with a tear in his eye he asks the girl next to him, "have you ever seen an animal make a mistake?" i know, i know, it sounds all very melodramatic now that i'm not under the influence of a bottle of pinot noir. BUT! 30 minutes later, i hear the loudest thud against my sliding glass door (which by the way never locks, so hearing a loud noise coming from it's direction is NOT a good thing) my cat and i freak out and i finally get the nerve to walk over and check it out. (because also, i should tell you that thanks to scooby doo, my biggest fear is seeing a green glowing face in a window, any window) i find a medium sized bird, lying on it's back right on the other side of my glass door. a bird flew into my glass door! it was breathing hard, so i knew it wasn't dead. i didn't really know what to do. i figured there was nothing i could do for it at 2am while drunk, so i went to bed and decided that if it was still there tomorrow morning i would do something about it, take it to a vet or something. but i got up this morning and it was gone. it flew away and i was happy. the end. 4:03 pm - 18 september 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
